DFDS Seaways’ reaction to increased baggage fees by Ryanair
Date published: 9 December 2011
Andrew Kelly, Marketing Manager for DFDS Seaways on the English Channel said:
"The announcement from Ryanair regarding its increase in costs to passengers - especially those travelling during busy periods - highlights how fantastic ferry travel is as an easy, affordable and comfortable alternative.
“You can now take a return trip for four people in a car from Dover to the Continent, during peak periods, for less than the excess baggage charge on Ryanair for two bags of 11kg. This is a considerable saving for those who are looking to take a holiday abroad at an affordable price.
"Not only does ferry travel continue to offer real value for money, there are also no baggage charges and very few restrictions. There is plenty of room and onboard entertainment for people of all ages. "
DFDS Seaways sails from Dover – Dunkirk up to 12 times a day and crossings take around two hours.
