Dover – France ferry operator is running all services and has capacity today

Dover ferry operator DFDS Seaways (formerly Norfolkline) says it has capacity for cars on sailings both to and from France today and is running to schedule (Thursday 25th November), while industrial action in Calais affects other operators that run from the Port of Dover.

The ferry company runs a regular service between Dover and the French port of Dunkirk, with sailings every two hours. Subject to availability, DFDS Seaways is also accepting transferred passengers from the other ferry operators who had booked to travel today.

To transfer tickets, passengers need to contact the operator they originally booked with, who will give them a voucher for the transfer. DFDS Seaways does not take foot passengers on its Dover – Dunkirk service.

The Dover – Dunkirk crossing takes just two hours and is just under a 30 minute drive away from Calais.

Chris Newey, director of passenger services for the English Channel route at DFDS Seaways, said:

“We have space and can still take bookings on our Dover – Dunkirk ferry route to ease the disruption being caused by strike action in France. Bookings can be taken both on the phone and via our website.”

DFDS Seaways is the only ferry company to sail into Dunkirk and has excellent connections to other parts of France, including Paris, which is just three hours drive by car.
